What is a computer?

The computer comes from the Latin, that is computare, meaning the count. Computers are tools used to process the information according to procedures that have been formulated.

According to Hamacher, computer is an electronic calculating machine quickly and be able to receive digital input, then process it in accordance with programs stored in memory, and produces output in the form of information.

According Blissmer, the computer is an electronic device that can perform several tasks, which receives input, processes the input according to the program, keep the commandments and the results of processing, providing output in the form of information.

Fuori argues that the computer is a data processor which can perform large calculations quickly, including arithmetic and logic operations, without intervention from humans.
